Worker Automation Desire Statistics (2025)

From a survey of 1,500 U.S. workers across 104 occupations (WORKBank, January–May 2025):

  • 46.1% of tasks: workers express positive attitude toward AI automation
  • 69.38% of pro-automation responses cite “freeing up time for high-value work” as primary motivation
  • 46.6% cite task repetitiveness
  • 46.6% cite quality improvement potential
  • 25.5% cite task stressfulness
  • 28.0% of workers expressed fears/concerns about AI when asked how they envision using it

Among those with concerns:

  • 45.0% lack trust in AI accuracy, reliability, or capability
  • 23.0% fear job replacement
  • 16.3% cite absence of human qualities in AI
